These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Shotlink, a service for creating private photo galleries and sharing them with clients ("Shotlink", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Shotlink you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Shotlink lets photographers upload photos, organize them into galleries, and share each gallery with clients through a secret link. Clients can view photos, mark favorites, and download photos in full resolution. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Your account
You need an account to create galleries. You can sign up with an email address and password or through Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate contact information — we use your email address for essential service messages such as email confirmation and password resets.
3. Your content
Photos and other content you upload remain yours. Shotlink claims no ownership of your content. So that we can operate the service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, resize, and otherwise process your content solely to provide Shotlink — for example generating thumbnails, streaming previews, and packaging downloads.
You are responsible for the content you upload. In particular, you confirm that you own the rights to the photos or have permission from the rights holders, and that sharing them with your clients does not violate any law or agreement.
4. Client galleries and share links
Published galleries are accessible to anyone who has the secret link (and the PIN, if you set one). You decide who receives a link and are responsible for sharing it only with the intended audience. Clients do not need an account; their favorite selections are tied to a random token stored in a cookie on their device.
5. Plans, storage quotas, and retention
Each account has a storage quota that depends on its plan; the current quota and usage are shown inside the app. Uploads that would exceed your quota are rejected. Galleries on the free plan may additionally be subject to a retention period after which they are removed; if a retention limit applies to your galleries, we will state it in the app and notify you before deletion. We may change quotas and plan limits, with reasonable notice for changes that reduce what your existing plan includes.
6. Payments
Paid plans, when available, are billed through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices, billing periods, and what each plan includes are shown at the point of purchase. Taxes may apply depending on your location.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Shotlink to:
- upload or share content that is illegal, infringes intellectual property or privacy rights, or that you do not have the right to distribute;
- upload or share content that sexually exploits or endangers minors — such content is removed and reported to the relevant authorities;
- distribute malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other accounts, or other users' galleries;
- abuse the infrastructure — for example circumventing quotas, scraping at scale, or using Shotlink as generic file hosting unrelated to photography work;
- harass, deceive, or defraud other users or clients.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time in your profile settings; this permanently removes your galleries and photos. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service — in the last case we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your photos.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Shotlink is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will never be lost — keep your own copies of your original photos.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shotlink will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will notify you — for example by email or a notice in the app — before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Shotlink after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
